Position Description: Under general direction of the Vice President of Tax, directs and oversees compliance for various business taxes on an ongoing basis. The Manager of Tax is responsible for the filing, tracking and payment of Income tax returns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the filing, tracking and payment of income tax returns in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment. Oversees the receipt and verification of the information and reports used as inputs in the preparation of income tax returns. Oversees the preparation of income tax returns and payment of income tax amounts. Responsible for staff development, assigns tasks. Assists on income tax audits with the goals of minimizing the eventual assessments, maintaining the working relationship with the jurisdictions, protecting the corporation?s rights in matters of dispute, and amending operating procedures to preclude future exposure. Researches and stays abreast of law and judicial decisions that impact sales tax and incorporates into taxing structure. Maintains a detailed understanding of income tax preparation software. Interacts with divisional and regional associates at all levels in the organization in the resolution of income tax issues. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Education: Requires BA in Accounting along with broad knowledge of legal and accounting principles relating to Income Tax. Normally requires a minimum of six (6) years experience in Income Tax, in a multi-jurisdictional corporate tax environment, with at least two (2) years experience at a manager level with staff supervision. Strong knowledge of multi-jurisdictional tax filings; income tax experience a plus Pharmaceutical, warehousing, and/or distribution industry experience preferred. Understanding of ABC policies, philosophy, goals and objectives in order to affect financial oversight in protecting the company?s assets. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Strong leadership skills. Strong presentation skills. Strong negotiating skills. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and InSource Sales Tax (Fast Tax) preferred; technical skills required to oversee the continuing development of computerized tax systems.
