Tax Manager, State and Local Tax

KPMG?s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice needs more members for their State Relocation and Expansion Services team. KPMG's SALT practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients.


Responsibilities:

?Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues, including compliance, advisory services, planning and controversies, which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings, and preparing protests
?Liaise with local office tax leadership related to local market activities
?Research and draft technical memoranda regarding state and local tax questions
?Help clients with state and local tax issues related to relocation or expansion efforts


Qualifications:

?Four years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state issues
?Experience with advising clients on Income-Franchise, Sale-Use, and State Relocation and Expansion services
?Strong knowledge of the development, planning and execution of sales and transactions tax refund claims
?Experience with various other corporate taxes, and their impact on sales tax
?Bachelor?s degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university or JD (Juris Doctor)
?Licensed CPA or Attorney
?Excellent writing, communications and tax research skills
