Tax Manager, Tax Controvery Services

KPMG?s Tax Controversy Services practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest IRS rules and regulations. Our tax professionals who handle federal tax issues bring the experience and commitment necessary to deliver tax compliance and advisory services to help meet our clients? specific needs.


Responsibilities:
?Review penalty abatement request letters and assist in the execution of penalty abatement services in state and federal penalty cases
?Manage the provision of IRS audits and appeals representations, which includes responding to Information Document Requests, Notices of Proposed Adjustments, and 30-day Letters
?Assist with implementing risk management systems to help clients comply with the reportable transaction rules of the IRS and other rules that govern activity in clients? tax functions
?Assist in the delivery of Research Credit services, as well as other tax services provided by the Tax Controversy Services (TCS) group, such as IRS Fast Track Settlement and other Alternative Dispute Resolution Services
?Build awareness of opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
?Recognize, research and recommend resolution of moderate to complex tax issues
?Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members


Qualifications:
?Four years of tax experience performing tax research, providing technical advice on tax issues, and performing federal and/or state tax compliance
?Excellent research and writing skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information
?BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
?CPA, JD (licensed attorney) or Enrolled Agent status
?Experience working for or dealing with the IRS
