Tax Processor

We are currently seeking a Tax Processor to join us in our Melville office.

Responsibilities:
?Support the Tax Department utilizing Atlas/GoRS software to assist with compliance components of the Tax practice related to filing and processing of tax returns
?Work closely with management team members to identify the best ways to respond to their needs and expectations
?Perform assembly on tax compliance projects; this includes copying and assembling tax returns, estimated tax payments, extensions, and other projects that arise
?Maintain the Tax practice databases; review the tax tracking database on a regular basis per requirements set forth by Atlas
?Scan documents and store them in the KPMG electronic filing and document storage system; assist with e-filings
?Track the sending and receipt of various engagement letters; this includes logging in when letters are sent and received, as well as scanning each engagement letter
?Assist the tax department with copy projects when needed
?Manage the tax due-date database including the addition of new clients, revisions for current clients, and printing of docket forms
?Manage due-date reporting based on Manager requirements and ad-hoc requests for reports
?Assist with locator, requests, copies, transfers and submission to Montvale
?Assist with compliance of eStars forecasting compliance and running various reports for the practice


Qualifications:
?High School Degree
?Strong computer skills, particularly database management
?Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
?Excellent work ethic and effective interpersonal skills
?Aptitude to learn quickly and take initiative
?Able to handle multiple concurrent tasks with limited direction and/or supervision
?Able to effectively prioritize assignments and handle change in a fast-paced practice
Self-starter with high energy, positive attitude and a strong job commitment
?Detail orientated and able to use independent judgment
