Tax Reporting Specialist

Principal Duties   Prepare Federal, State and Local tax deposits and returns.
Prepare Quarterly, Monthly and year-end reconciliations.
Preparation of other state and local returns (e.g. sales and use tax), as necessary.
Maintain assigned tax accounts to insure agency required payment /reporting frequencies, tax rates, and information requests are processed and responded to in accordance with taxing authority regulations. 
Update tax accounts in Spreadsheets and Master Tax timely and accurately (e.g. validate account numbers, tax rates, client set up, and payment frequencies are inputted correctly.)
Maintain assigned tax accounts on disaster recovery list (e.g. tax type, account number, method of payment/ reporting frequency, web address/phone # if EFT, user ID and passwords, etc.)
Communicate with Financial Reporting on payroll tax liability account payments processed by Tax Reporting toward GL reconciliation of payroll tax liabilities.
Perform other duties as assigned by Team Lead or Tax Reporting Manager.

 

Qualifications:



 
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, FPC or CPP preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience in payroll and payroll tax reporting for federal, state, and local tax authorities, bookkeeping & GL experience desirable.
Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, Oracle and Master Tax preferred.
Ability to handle confidential employee and client matters.
Good problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively and accurately under time limitations.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to maintain good working relationship with other departments.
Professional business demeanor.
Fluent in English.
