Job Description -- The PricewaterhouseCoopers San Jose practice is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join their State and Local Tax practice. Successful candidate will have opportunities to be exposed to and deal with a variety of state and local tax issues. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day consulting, development of ideas, strategies and opportunities. This individual will also be leveraging work to associate personnel and responsible for developing and supervising the associates.

BA, BS, or BBA is required, with an emphasis in accounting preferred. Masters of Taxation, JD LLM or CPA is highly desirable.

Job Requirement Essential

Successful candidate will have a strong technical tax background as a result of at least three years of experience in tax research, consulting and compliance as it relates to federal and multistate tax specialties. Prior experience in a tax professional services firm, industry, law firm and/or government agency (i.e. State Board of Equalization & Franchise Tax) is desirable. Client service orientation combined with creative problem solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well with independent responsibilities. Highly motivated to take the initiative. Highly motivated to take the initiative and seek opportunities to network extensively with existing and prospective clients, to assume a high degree of responsibility and exposure within the firm, as well as focus their efforts on state taxation. The candidate should be able to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks as well as manage associate level teams.
