As a member of our growing Tax & Assurance team, you will work with other Beers & Cutler professionals to support the needs of prestigious middle-market businesses throughout the Washington, DC area.  You will have the opportunity to do both tax and audit, or to focus on one or the other, depending on the direction that you would like to take your career path.Our Real Estate Group is one of the largest in the metropolitan Washington, DC region. The group provides many of the area's largest land owners, developers and investors with a full array of services including audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements, tax planning and compliance services and assistance and support with IRS audits.Our Commercial Business Group works closely with auto dealers, government contractors, retailers, technology and hospitality companies. They provide an extensive range of tax, audit and consulting services that enable clients to implement sound financial management processes.  In fact, the Automotive Services Group serves over 100 dealerships and is recognized as the leading automotive accounting firm in the Washington, DC area. Our Professional Services Group provides tax, accounting and proactive management advice to approximately one-half of the 50 largest law firms based in Washington, DC and also serves engineering companies, lobbyists, public relations and advertising agencies.

As a Beers & Cutler Staff Accountant, you may be involved in providing a variety of professional services including:  traditional tax compliance and consulting services; financial statement audits, reviews and compilations; transactional tax planning; construction cost and operating expense audits; employee benefit and retirement plan audits; and multi-state and international tax planning.

 

As a Staff Accountant, your responsibilities will include:Work directly with partners, managers and seniors, providing tax, audit and business advisory services for clients; Gain experience and training in various areas, including audits, reviews, compilations, tax return preparation (such as partnerships, S-Corporations, corporations) tax research and consulting; Develop in-depth knowledge of clients? business and industry while working on multiple aspects of the engagement; Be personally mentored and supported by partners, managers and seniors within your industry-focused teams; Have broader experience, more responsibility and greater opportunity earlier in your career; Enjoy friendships, social activities and team outings that make work and life more fun.

Ideal candidates must have 0-2 years experience in public accounting working with business clients.  CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is a plus.  Candidates should have strong academic background and proven success.  Industry experience in real estate, retail, professional services, government contracting, auto dealers, software and technology, and other commercial clients is a plus.

 

Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and must be a tactful team player in working with engagement teams to address client needs while ensuring compliance with all industry standards.
