Description

The AICPA has announced that it is relocating a substantial portion of its operations to Durham, NC. As a result, we have openings for Technical Managers of Professional Ethics Enforcement (Technical Standards).

Through the AICPA?s ethics enforcement process, help protect the public and maintain high professional standards of practice by CPAs. Restore confidence in the integrity, objectivity, competence, and professionalism of CPAs by enforcing professional ethics standards for the profession and assist AICPA members in continually improving their professional conduct and performance.

ResponsibilitiesInvestigate allegations of AICPA members who may have violated professional standards (e.g., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)); Identify possible violations of the professional standards and present findings to the AICPA Technical Standards Subcommittee (TNS) for consideration; Prosecute cases before the AICPA Joint Trial Board; Work closely with TNS committee members and state CPA societies? ethics committees as part of the investigation process.

RequirementsA minimum of 5 years experience in public accounting; Experience with audits of employee benefit plan, not-for-profit (particularly GAS/A-133), and/or government engagements a plus; Bachelors degree and Certified Public Accountant license is required; Strong working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS; Excellent project management skills and organizational abilities; Ability to deal effectively and efficiently with partners and managers of public accounting firms and officers of publicly registered entities; Excellent presentation skills; Solid written and verbal communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Window applications.
