Transmission Accounting Senior Accountant

In this key role, you will be responsible for preparing and distributing property accounting reports related to transmission assets, CATS processing, performing SOX key control activities, work order processing, job order closing, and other storm accounting and special projects support as required.

Responsibilities:
* Preparing and distributing various reports related to transmission activities:
- Annual reports
- Property accounting system - CATS queries for external Business Unit requests

* Responsible for CATS processing:
- Approved/failed Retirements in CATS
- Analyzing CATS control reports (1200-1203) and processing retirement corrections to ensure timely compliance with SOX key control activity

* Managing and Reviewing ACP-monthly indicators/control reports:
- SOX key control activities
- Reviewing dollars in work orders with no estimates
- Reviewing indicator inactive CWIP
- Reviewing indicator-company aging 106.1 (greater than 317 days since construction - completed)
- Reviewing monthly addition/retirements reports
- Reviewing monthly utility plant activity report
- Reviewing open status w.o. with 106 balances
- Reviewing service required dates
- Reviewing report #7 5530-570
- Reviewing report #8

* Responsible for work order processing
- Preload retirements
- Review of work order charges
- Review and unitize work order and set closing status in CATS
- Review - FE error groups
- Review - CATS depreciation reports for 106 posting and correct work order transactions

* Responsible for storm accounting support
- Storm capital booking
- Other storm accounting support as required
* Responsible for closing job orders

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or undergraduate degree in related discipline
* CPA license or other professional designation is highly desirable
* 5+ years of accounting experience as an accountant in a public company with solid understanding and application of GAAP
* Knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Excellent written and communication skills
