A unique opportunity to work with highly motivated team members within the Global Funding Group and Global Treasury Services, the functional units that provides funding and cash management administration for all of Cargill's business units. Specific responsibilities include maintenance of general ledger (reconciliation and support of balance sheet and profit/loss statements), advising on appropriate inventory system treatment, coordination with other Cargill business units and functions on short term debt reporting, work process improvements and support of Global Funding Group and Global Treasury Services initiatives.  Initiatives include setting up new products, financial analysis, GAAP reporting, expense analysis and budgeting.    

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

50%Manages multiple import sources and maintains integrity of financial information including full support and reconciliation of balance sheet and profit/loss reporting.

 

15%Participates in various GFG and GTS initiatives including drafting and defining Standard Accounting and Operations Procedures / ad-hoc reporting inquiries.  

 

15% Meets the needs of internal and external customers by providing quality services.  Responds to requests on a timely basis.  Ensures accounting procedures are well documented.  Adheres to all policies, procedures,  internal controls on a daily basis.  Teams with global counterparts for consistent inventory system treatment .               

10% Prepares administrative expense accruals and allocations, calculates and applies interest rates for intercompany lending/borrowing.   

 

10% Cross trains and backs up accounting resources as appropriate. 







 

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, or at least five years of relevant business experience.    2+ years experience with general ledger reporting processes and procedures.Exposure to financial trading businesses and debt management desired. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of General Ledger Reporting systems.
