Vice President Tax $200K -$240K plus bonus/incentives/Metro west

SUMMARY
Overall responsibility for the development and management of the Corporate Tax Department of this publicly traded premier organization with multi billion dollar revenues. This role includes development and implementation of the company?s strategic tax planning objectives both on a short and long term basis. Will need to presence and leadership skill to guide a staff of 15 tax professionals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with business units to develop and implement their tax planning strategies.
Ultimate responsibility for all corporate tax provisions and related analysis.
Ultimate responsibility for all GAAP/Statutory tax compliance filings.
Responsible for high level negotiations and relationships with IRS and others regulators.
Planning and coordination of all merger and consolidation activity with regard to tax issues and opportunities.
Identification and consulting with regard to tax issues on new or existing business proposals.
Tax planning with regard to existing or proposed transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

-Bachelors Degree or equivalent required. MST, MBA or Masters of Science in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA preferred.

-Experience with merger and acquisitions. Exceptional quantitative skills. Experience and working knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles. 
-Upwards of 10 years of prior management experience and 8+ years of experience in a related field or area specialization.
-Accountable for a large unit within one area or one that crosses the enterprise.
-Accountable for providing direction to upper level managers. Ultimately accountable for a large group of varied exempt and non-exempt employees. Manages a large unit that has fluctuating needs and expectations.
-Responsible for setting strategy and has ultimate accountability for the successful business operations within various functional areas.
-Has advanced knowledge of policies, procedures, and programs within unit.
