Vice President of Finance and Human Resources

Growing Tampa area company in the Hispanic advertising industry is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Human Resources. We want someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of employees and customers.  We have offices nationwide and are expanding rapidly. 

 

We are looking for a high-energy, creative thinker who can act as a leader in the finance, human resources and administrative areas of the business. We need someone to help us accomplish our strategic financial objectives by developing, monitoring, and evaluating plans and results; and enforcing controls.  The successful candidate will also manage important human resources functions and oversee the administration of the headquarters office.

Responsibilities include:

 

* Oversees the accounting department and preparation of accounting and financial reports, tax and audit schedules.

 

* Develops plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial results to guide management decisions by forecasting requirements; preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions; preparing economic studies and forecasts; developing and providing background information; developing and enforcing planning schedules; preparing planning narratives.



* Guides preparation of financial and business analyses to identify profit improvement opportunities by studying business opportunities; evaluating new markets; recommending courses of action.

* Complies with regulatory requirements by approving and filing statements and reports; assisting CPA firm with filing returns; paying taxes.


* Guides internal actions by developing and enforcing policies and procedures.



* Maintains office and information services by studying organization requirements; approving policies, procedures, programs, and expenditures.


*  Oversees billing and collections department.  Monitors and develops plans for improvement in cash collections and increasing down payments.  Manages accounts receivable balances.

 

*  Oversees the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.  Maintains knowledge of current employment law rules and regulations. 

 

*  Manages employee policies, procedures and benefits; directs recruiting of new employees. 


* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.



Qualifications:

 

Minimum 10 years experience in accounting field - most recently as controller or VP-Finance.  CPA and degree in Accounting required.Bilingual (Spanish) and/or knowledge of Great Plains accounting software a plus.  Experience in advertising or publishing industry preferred.
