Administrative Accounting Asst/HR Generalist

  Simmons Veterinary Hospital/ The Barkers Hotel & Purrington Inn are award-winning pet care facilities dedicated to providing the highest level of care to our clients? furry family members.  Our growing staff of 50+ employees enjoys a dynamic work environment dedicated to animal wellness and fun, which includes excellent benefits and opportunities for continuing education and advancement.  We are looking for a motivated, highly organized and accurate individual with an HR/Accounting background to assist the Accounting Manager with the needs of a growing professional organization. The perfect candidate will be detail-oriented, and possess HR experience with knowledge of payroll processing and employment record keeping and benefits management.  We require a candidate with excellent written and oral communication skills, accurate organizational skills, a solid work ethic with the ability to multi-task, and a team spirit! 

Our pet hospital and hotel utilize state of the art computer technology in the daily service of our large exclusive client base.  The individual applying must understand the value of time saving processes and programs, be computer proficient and currently possess a background familiar with the workings of a high volume accounting office and have a keen attention for detail.You can learn more about our company on our web site at www.simmonsvet.com.

Required Skills:  Must possess accurate math skills and be proficient in Quickbooks,  payroll processing, Word, and Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge and experience in human resource data management, including benefits management and billing, OSHA and Worker's Compensation regulations, Federal and State laws regarding employment practices and the maintenance of employee files preferred.  Excellent communication and leadership abilities, interpersonal and organizational skills, decision making, relationship building and negotiation skills.  Knowledge of processing daily deposits w/ income reconciliations, accounts payable w/ electronic scanning and filing of AP invoices, and G/L account reconciliations a plus.
