Administrative Technician

Seeking an Administrative Technician to support the Naval Aerospace Medical Research program at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola. Performs a wide range of administrative and clerical duties for a department or department manager. Work assignments are complex in nature and considerable judgment is required in resolving problems. Provides analytical and specialized administrative support to relieve and assist executive administrative, line and staff managers of complex details and administrative duties. Handles special projects and executes research and data analysis tasks. Analyzes problems, determines approach, compiles and analyzes data and prepares reports and recommendations. Coordinates activities between departments and external entitles. Contacts staff at all organizational levels to gather information and prepare reports. Work may be of a critical or confidential nature. Assignments may be in various functional areas. Liaisons with department personnel, command staff, and human resources regarding position descriptions, performance appraisals, awards, benefits, timesheets, and other personnel related issues. Coordinates and arranges travel requirements and logistics for supervisor and other staff designated by supervisor. Processes travel claims as directed by supervisor. Assist with presentations and demonstrations as needed. Answers phones and takes and delivers messages. Provides appropriate information to callers. Sets up and maintains department files. Maintains supervisor's calendar and makes arrangements for meetings as necessary. Assists with organizing and completing department projects. Prepares and sorts mail. Performs typing assignments and proofreads all work. Drafts letters on behalf of the supervisor. Maintains and updates databases as needed. Assists in ordering supplies, filling out necessary paperwork, and maintaining purchasing records. Operates automated office equipment as needed. Provides and maintains department office supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have good organizational, verbal and written communication stills, ability to handle multiple tasks. Minimum Education/Training: Associates Degree preferred.Minimum Experience: 2-4 years
