Assistant, Print Procurement

The Assistant, Print Procurement will assist in reviewing and establishing documents utilized in the procurement process, participate in negotiations, and resolve outstanding issues. Understand and comply with Sears's procurement policies and procedures. Responsible for routine procurement actions. The Procurement Assistant must be resourceful and protect the companies' interests. The individual is required to maintain well-rounded market and industry knowledge in the commodities they are responsible for procuring. This is an administrative role.

Qualifications
Responsibilities include:

- Coordinates and executes the ordering and distributions of all supply items.
- Administers all aspects of the buying office insuring proper inventory and service levels.
- Assists procurement staff in reviewing and establishing documents utilized in the procurement process, participate in negotiations, and resolve outstanding issues.
- Complies with and understands Sears Holding Corporation's (SHC) procurement policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

- Follows up with vendors on product and packaging problems; works in conjunction with vendors to develop solutions in order to maintain a smooth work flow.
- Sends letters to various vendors regarding price estimates for ordering items. Reviews invoices and follows up on purchase order receipt errors and on past due orders to ensure items are received and orders, changes, and invoices are accurate.
- Maintains product information (numbers, pricing, descriptions) on files to support various merchandising systems for stores, distribution centers and headquarters.
- Gathers data, prepares reports and forms and works with buyers to assist in developing plans.
- Prepares correspondence to communicate important information to stores, vendors and merchandising staff. Responds to and assists in resolving questions or requests for stores, distribution centers and headquarters.
- Orders supplies for new stores and redistributing supplies for closing stores. Working with vendors, distribution centers and various support areas to ensure these items are received on time.
- Researches and reviews vendors to assist in determining whether a vendor meets quality and cost guidelines. Reviews quote vendors issues such as points, freight terms, packaging, and carton gravity to be the most cost efficient.

Qualifications:
- High School Dipolma or GED required, some college highly preferred.
- At least 1 to 2 years of administrative support experience; procurement background preferred.
- The individual is required to maintain well-rounded market and industry knowledge in the commodities they are responsible for procuring.
