Assistant Supervisor

YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities is an award-winning, nationally acclaimed network of not-for-profit health and human services agencies dedicated to building brighter futures for people with developmental disabilities of all ages and their families. We serve individuals, families, and communities in the NYC metropolitan area, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Sullivan Counties within New York State. The most recent additions to our network include services to New Jersey and Puerto Rico. Our full range of services include early intervention, pre-school, family supports, day treatment and day habilitation programs, employment training and placement, clinical and residential services, as well as recreation and camping services.

Join our dynamic team and assist the Program Supervisor in supervising staff at our Day Habilitation Program in Astoria, Queens. Work hands-on with adults who are dually diagnosed (i.e. developmental and psychiatric disabilities), in a community based program where the consumers attend volunteer sites in small groups during the day to develop their pre-employment skills.

Additional Responsibilties:
: oversee the physical/structural needs of program
: be responsible for ensuring that the consumer's needs are being met
: develop and monitor quality programming
: advocate with parents & outside agencies

* BA/BS required
* 2-3 years experience with MR/DD or MH population.
* Relevant supervisory experience preferred.
* Hours: 8-4, M-F
