Associate Scientist

The Associate Scientist will work with a team of molecular biologists/biochemists in a Feed gene discovery pipeline. The Associate Scientist will primarily be responsible for analyzing data from phenotypic, biochemical and molecular analysis of transgenic and non-transgenic plants. The Associate Scientist will also contribute to the design and execution of gene finding approaches.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

M.S., Plant Physiology, Agricultural Science, Biology or related field OR B.S. with 3 years relevant experience with model plant growth for biochemical analysis of plants/seeds.


 


Demonstrated experience with plant cultivation and standard analytical techniques for molecular analysis of plants/seeds.



Experience in data handling and storage.



Individual must be able to work independently, is well organized, and be self-motivating.


 


Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team and effectively communicating, with personnel at variety of skill levels.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

Basic knowledge and demonstrated skills in method development for the analysis of seed metabolites as well as plant molecular biology skills.
