Billing/Collections Professional

St. Louis medical facility in search of a billing/collections professional for an immediate opening; this position is temporary and will last approximately three(3) to four (4) months.  This person must have at least one(1) years of relevant billing/collections experience.  Proficiency in Medicaid billing (in-patient or out-patient) desired, but will accept comparable commercial billing and train the ideal candidate accordingly.

 

While on assignment this person will be responsible for, but not limited to: reviewing patient account files and ensuring their accuracy and completeness; determining appropriate billing distributions and process statements; monitoring outstanding accounts and applying late charges; completing required forms; processing refunds for overpaid accounts; receiving and answering billing-related inquiries; and assisting in the preparation of billing reports.  Will also receive and review past due bills and follow up documents; obtain relevant information on past due accounts, including applicable special circumstances; contact patients and/or third party payer organizations to secure payments or arrange alternative settlement plans.
