Billing Coordinator
Service Management Systems is seeking an experienced billing coordinator for its corporate office located in Nashville, TN.
Individual will be responsible for coordinating the creation of invoices for services provided by the company by completing all required billing requirements, including verification of billing data, providing customer support, imaging and mailing the invoices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares supporting documentation for billing
Scans and Indexes billing related correspondence and forms
Contacts customers and billing location managers for billing clarification and follow up as needed
Mails Form Letters requesting specific billing data
Collects, verifies and inputs in to Billing Software or Great Plains: billable overtime, passenger counts, customer profile and other data directly affecting revenue invoiced customers
Generates invoices and mails to customers
Prepares and reviews batch headers for system and manually generated invoices
Prepares billing corrections based on customer and contract specifications
Creates customer correspondence related to billing changes and after supervisor review, will forward to customer
Provides copies of invoices to other departments or customers, as requested
Reports missing data to immediate supervisor for billing issues that need escalation
Prepares composite reports for individual reports for immediate supervisor reporting billing status
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency
Assist Billing Supervisor and Business Analysts with special projects and administrative functions
Education/Experience:
Associate?s degree (AA) from two-year college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing software, knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software and ability to maintain multiple spreadsheets, and familiarity with Outlook or equivalent electronic mail application.
