Business Transformation Specialist, Senior - AGS

We are searching for a Business Transformation Specialist, Senior who will be a part of the Business Transformation Team. The Specialist will be is responsible for supporting and leading business process improvement projects to support the companys top-level strategic goals. THE BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION ORGANIZATION:APC is transforming itself into a lean, customer centric global enterprise and is looking for transformational change agents to execute against this strategic initiatives. Business transformation is currently a two tiered organization with individuals embedded in functional areas as well as a core group of unassigned process specialists. Embedded specialists are responsible for working within functional areas to identify, evaluate, diagnose, re-engineer, design and/or improve key business processes. Core specialists focus cross-functionally with the same goals, in addition to providing guidance on process and methodology. Business transformation specialists may also be periodically deployed on process assurance/internal audit assignments in support of Sarbains Oxley and other audit needs. This position is embedded in APC Global Services (AGS). AGS, with a staff of trained and experienced specialists, works with APCs clients to implement a fail-safe availability strategy and ensures its successful operation. AGS provides Needs Assessment Services, Project Management, Installation Services, Network Integration and ongoing maintenance.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
Mentor, coach, and teach Business Transformation Specialists and other business associates Lean/TPS concepts and methodologies and associated problem solving and improvement techniques
Act as a senior-level trusted advisor to APC executives on process improvement and change management
Apply Lean/TPS concepts and methodology to business process improvement projects in assigned functional areas to help the company achieve its vision of becoming a learning organization.
Lead, manage, and/or facilitate major strategic projects by applying analytics and tools following methodology provided by APC and/or from experience
Act as a change agent to improve business processes by incorporating lean concepts and other current best practices
Develop and implement key metrics, measurement systems, and data collection processes to drive business process improvement
Share best practices among the various business functions and units, and provide training and education on the application of these practices
Support and conduct business process improvement activities and analytics as directed
Establish and maintain business process documentation (this includes process maps, value stream maps, cross-functional workflows, and other forms of process documentation)
Perform and/or lead internal auditing functions including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance testing and other high-level business auditing for the purpose of identifying gaps and strategic areas for improvement
Identify and document areas for business process improvement and capability gaps within and across functional business process areas
Create/define/design new or improved business processes to deliver break-through performance improvements and build-in effective internal controls
Support business in roll out and interface of primary software systems where it impacts business function (Oracle / Siebel)
Serve as a feeder group for talented business professionals
QUALIFICATIONS
Generic
Bachelors Degree Engineering, Computer Science, or Business preferred
5-7 years related experience process improvement or re-engineering in a lean environment
Lean manufacturing or lean office experience, including substantial exposure to lean concepts and tools and significant hands-on experience applying and developing lean processes
Scientific or data-based problem solving experience
Process improvement, design, analysis, implementation, and documentation experience
Project management or project leadership experience
Transformational experience in a substantial organizational change effort
Strong sense of urgency to understand and solve customer/business problems
Ability to lead and influence without authority
Listening and investigative problem diagnosis / problem solving skills ability to peel the onion
Experience applying and mentoring tools such as: 5S, Self Inspection, Andons, Kanbans, Poka Yoke, Queuing, VSM, Takt Time, Pull System, Quick Changeover, SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Works well in a team environment
Exhibits appropriate professional/ethical standards
Flexible, with the ability to work on more than one project at a time and agile enough to be deployed to other teams periodically
Ability to quickly learn key elements of a business unit and good general business knowledge
PC proficient with good presentation skills
Embedded Specific
Applied engineering/technical experience such as Project Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applications Engineering, etc.
Strong customer focus / customer orientation with demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles
Background in service fulfilment; strong understanding of service environment; customer service; logistics; etc.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Generic
MBA General Management, Operations, or Marketing
Certification in Six Sigma; Lean Office or Lean Manufacturing; Project Management
International experience leading projects or implementing processes
Sarbanes-Oxley auditing or compliance
Development of corporate metrics, performance measurement/management, balanced scorecard, etc.
Embedded Specific
Experience with aftermarket support services such as maintenance, repairs, and spare parts
Experience in building a service organization
Experience in a service transformation change from product to service emphasis
Knowledge of distribution channels / channel diversity
