Busy Emergency Room in need of a secretary ASAP!

Officeteam Healthcare has an immediate need for an Emergency Room Secretary. Responsibilities include: meet and greet patients and visitors. Answer multi-line phone system. Process patient chart for admission as well as discharges. Coordinate transportation for discharges and transfers. Access hospital lab system to obtain lab results for clinical staff. Schedule procedures. Support clinical staff in a multitude of tasks. May perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors. Answer multi-line phones using consistent, courteous and effective communications. Make referrals of information to various providers as appropriate. Maintain patient chart by appropriately identifying documents belonging to specific ED patients; collect and assemble forms completed during the delivery of care; distribute copies of ED records to appropriate sources. Assemble charts for admission and ensure completion prior to patient being admitted. Ensure that Patient's ED chart and medical record chart goes to the floor of admission. Assemble all charts for discharges and ensure all paperwork is completed, with correct patient ID and sent to registration for further processing. Review charge documents for completeness and give feedback to clinical staff as needed to ensure completeness. Maintain records of ED patient seen; coordinate referrals to insurance companies for admissions as needed. Complete requisitions for testing and maintain records of those tests. Coordinate transportation of patients. Manage two-way radio transmissions. Support clinical staff by accessing computer system to obtain lab results and discharge summaries. May also need to follow up on radiology studies, obtaining medical records, preparing paperwork, making phone calls and placing pages or any other tasks as requested by clinical staff. Perform additional clinical support functions, as requested. Greet patients and visitors. Direct patient through the ED visit. Communicate with patient's family members when needed and manage telephone communications relating to these tasks. Daily to weekly may perform such other and further duties, including but not limited to: initiating requests from the medical record, composing and sending correspondence, maintaining needed levels of supplies, completing various departmental reports. Qualifications :
Minimum 3-5 years as a medical secretary and at LEAST 1-2 years of experience in an emergency room or ICU setting. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask is a must.
