Commercial Portfolio Manager/Underwriter

Summary

Responsible for underwriting commercial business loans.

 

Job Description

1. Completes thorough analysis of business and personal financial statements for all loan applicants.  Analysis will include spreading of business financials, completion of cash flow analysis, calculation of repayment ability on a global basis, determination of acceptability of personal and business credit histories and collateral value.

2. Determines approval or denial on all applications reviewed.

3. Coordinates ordering and review of appraisals for approved real estate loan requests.

4. Communicate with field or senior lending officer throughout underwriting process in order to obtain answers to questions or deliver recommendation.

5. Participates in cross training to learn other functions within the department, trains other underwriters.

6. Attend work on a regular basis, on time and withstand varying degrees of stress.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred, or equivalent commercial lending or commercial credit work experience. Five or more years underwriting experience. Strong familiarity with all business/personal financial statements, tax returns, financial ratios, commercial cash flow analysis and determination of repayment ability on a global basis.
