Contract Specialist - (Tacoma) - (HE30624-611-WA)

Job Title: Specialist, Contracts




Summary:


The purpose of this position is to perform routine audits of existing contract portfolio to ensure that the Contract Database and billing system appropriately reflect the terms outlined in the contract. This position will also be responsible for reviewing contracts prior to execution to ensure that proper language and coding are included in the contract. The Contracts Specialist will work closely with the Revenue Operations team to resolve payor issues by utilization of contract expertise, facilitation of conference calls with payors, and the initiation of billing system corrections to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values.



Qualifications:


1. Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school


2. Must have good organizational skills with attention to detail


3. Strong communication skills


4. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently


5. Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment


6. Detailed knowledge of Commercial/Contract payors, how their business and claim systems are structured and how they impact collections is strongly desired

Essential Job Functions:


1. Proactively audit contracts.


2. Analyze business need for profiling at a plan/unit level.


3. Complete SMART forms accurately to ensure fee schedules are appropriately represented in system.


4. Produce and analyze contract negotiation models for Field Directors.


5. Coordinate with Reimbursement Operations Leadership as needed to resolve payor issues.


6. Proactively review and update Contract Database to ensure accuracy.


7. Evaluate and report key performance metrics.


8. Provide recommendations to improve system policies, procedures and performance.


9. Implement policies for analyzing fallout reports between Contract Database and billing system.


10. Participate with other departmental teams and committees on billing, collection and reimbursement projects.


11. Participate in team activities that promote DaVita culture and core values.


12. Other duties as assigned.
