Data Entry Clerk

Data Entry Clerk

Duties include:Keying and entering alphanumeric data accurately and rapidly, using a computer terminal keyboardRead small printed words and numbers rapidly and accuratelyResponsible for keying data to designated data fields displayed on the computer terminal screenReviews contents of source documents to determine if data is error free before performing routine alphanumeric data entry assignmentsVerifies entries for accuracy and completenessPerforms simple clerical work, such as maintaining files and completing routine reportsCan operate related data entry equipmentPerforms related work as requiredWork is performed under the general supervision of a technical superiorsAnswer telephone and take messagesPerform system inventory transactionAssist with inventory counts as required

 

 

Skills/Requirements

Education and CertificationA high school diploma or equivalent


Specific Work Background/Experience Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English.Demonstrated skills in oral and written communicationAbility to operate basic office equipment such as copier, fax machine, computer, and telephoneDemonstrated knowledge of Windows applications including WordPerfect, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint

DesiredExperience with Oracle or other inventory system Working in a warehouse environment 2+ years experience operating alphanumeric data entry equipment or completion of a formal training course in the operation of alphanumeric data entry equipment at a vocational school or other accredited institution

Special Requirements/Additional CommentsMust be able to work under pressureMust be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
