Citizenship/Identity Verification Data Entry Operator(s)

This is a short-term project (4 months maximum). To meet the requirements of the Deficit Reduction Act, the Department of Public Welfare will be using the services of contracted staff to verify citizenship and identity for Medicaid applicants and clients. This will be done by comparing information provided by applicants/clients to the Department of Health?s birth record system and the Department of Transportation?s driver license system. This manual verification process will continue until systems changes have been made to automatically verify this information as part of the routine eligibility determination process.

Short description
These operators validate birth records and driver licenses for Medicaid applicants and clients by comparing information provided by applicants/clients on a paper form against data in the Department of Health?s birth record system and Department of Transportation?s driver license system. Operators will document information found by indicating key identifying information on the paper form. Operators will also print driver license records when found. This work will be performed at a Department of Public Welfare worksite in Harrisburg.

Technical skills:

Overview:

? Ability to accurately enter information into a computer, accessing information from birth record and driver license systems, and verifying and documenting information found.

? The operator must complete all verifications accurately and on-time as determined by the Team Lead and Department of Public Welfare management.

? Operators must be able to communicate clearly with Team Lead and DPW management.

? Due to the nature of the information being verified, it is critical that these operators maintain confidentiality.
