Develops strategies, implementation plans and key messaging to communicate, influence and interface directly with external public policy and community leaders to gain support for Verizon's positions on legislative, regulatory and other policy initiatives.May interact with members of the state's executive branch and with members of the state's legislative and regulatory bodies. Monitors state and federal regulatory developments to identify and influence issues having an impact on the company’s operations.Ensures the company’s compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.Develops and manages strategies and programs to ensure that the activities of federal, state, and local regulatory commissions have a positive or neutral impact on the company.Represents the company before the state regulatory commissions, FCC, and associations / committees which set / influence industry standards.

Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years experience in the federal or state government relations areas or the regulatory environmentBachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Political Science or related fieldsDetailed experience and knowledge of the public policy activities relative to telecommunications or related areasHigh level of expertise in telecommunications industry regulation, competition policy, technology, pricing, and service quality.High level of knowledge concerning economic regulation in the communications, cable, or utilities industries.Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
