Dispatch Technician/Administrator

Working as a member of the U.S. Transportation team and reporting to the Truck & Marine Manager, this position provides logistical truck support to the Sales and Marketing Department of Agrium.


Specific responsibilities will include:Interfacing with customers, vendors and internal employees with respect to freight rate verification and service level expectations.Working closely with industry associations to develop a strong understanding of the U.S. trucking industry (regulations, safety & DOT guidelines).Developing and maintain carrier profiles, to include insurance requirements and safety records and service issues.Assisting with dispatching and negotiating rates to ensure expeditious delivery in the most economical manner.Support Transportation Department as needed.Other administrative duties as required and or assigned

 

Minimum qualifications for this position include: Minimum Grade 12 education and a related degree or diploma 1 ? 2 years experience or 3 ? 5 years of equivalent experienceExperience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint are necessaryWorking knowledge of SAP would be considered a definite assetSolid communicator and good negotiating skillsMust perform well in a team environment


Minimal travel is required and occasional periods requiring Saturday work.
