Fall Campaign Internship

 Fall Internship (Full & Part-time)

Back to school for the Fall? This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience working on a state wide campaign. Every intern will have an opportunity to work and learn about field/grassroots organizing, fundraising, and media. This Fall will be very exciting with the Democratic Primary on September 19th and the General Election for Governor & Lt. Governor in November. Our Worcester Campaign Headquarters will become a part of the Democratic Party's Victory '06 Campaign after the Primary giving all Interns an opportunity to help with both Federal & State Campaigns in MA.  ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update our campaign database and assist campaign staff with administrative tasks.Compose & Send out daily media reports (news & blog clips) to important campaign staff.Post on the Students 4 Murray Blog/Website bi-weekly about the campaign.Supervise and Participate in volunteer nights, phone banks, visibility, mailings, and outreach effort.Attend fundraising and community events for the campaign.Additional responsibilities will be added throughout the summer.

 

 QualificationsAbility to work in a fast paced campaign environment

?  Computer literacy ? knowledge of MS Office, Internet browsers, etc.  Good communication skills and an ability to work well in a cooperative environmentStrong analytical and writing skills (proofreading, drafting, and blog posting)A willingness to learn, flexibility and reliability

 Time Commitment/Compensation

?  Commitment to September, October & November (Late August if possible)

?  Hours per week are negotiableMay involve working some nights and weekends.Commitment to help with both the Primary & General Election (9/19 &

  11/7)Unpaid, but course credit is an option (must work out details with college beforehand)
