Import Specialist II

Job Summary and Mission

 

Assist with processing of import shipments and traffic coordination for an assigned base of accounts ensuring correct processing and timely delivery of freight.  Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

 

Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Receive, review, and process import documentation for an assigned base of accounts.  Obtain and process Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate, arranging delivery, and invoicing the import account.  Monitor transactions and notify supervisory personnel of any problems or irregularities. Provide excellent and timely customer service by informing the client of the status of their shipments. Coordinate the release of goods from the carrier, Customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required.




Summary of Experience and EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required. Less than one year related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAccurate typing and/or data entry skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based or job specific software applications. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs. Read, write and speak English fluently. Read, comprehend and write basic correspondence. Effectively present information one-on-one or in small group situations. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Balances team and individual responsibilities. Consistently at work and on time.

Licenses and CertificationsProfessional certification may be required in some areas.
