International Buyer/Planner I

  Basic Function   This position exists to execute contracted procurement strategies and tactics ? that support Divisional International Supply Chain objectives, including:  alliances, distribution agreements and competitor purchase agreements, through established LLT and CTB processes; allocation and planning, supplier capacity evaluation, planning and monitoring of production.  This position will also provide back up coverage to the International Supply Manager position.

 

Basic Accountabilities

 

hLeads internal, cross function/cross site demand planning activity (LLT/CTB);  Executes creation of computer-generated reports and queries to enable these activities

hInitiates PO placement with supplier.

hPrioritizes production schedules within assigned supplier.

hMonitors supplier capacity and performance against service levels as outlined in contracts; provides periodic reports to supplier, contract manager and sales/marketing personnel, to include a year end business review on obsolesce, inventory levels and supplier performance metrics.

hCommunicates daily with suppliers, freight forwarders, receiving & forecasting staff to discuss all aspects of supply including placement of new orders, pricing/quality issues, delivery information, etc.

hIdentifies issues and provides guidance to cross-functional issues.

hManages inventory for assigned category, identifies and initiates rework/substitution opportunities.

hManages quality process for incoming shipments.

hMonitors demand changes and adjusts procurement plan as needed.

hTracks inbound shipments, prioritizing deliveries as required to support customer demand

hManages system generated planning and purchasing messages

 

Requirements

 

hThis position requires a minimum of a Bachelor?s Degree in business or equivalent work experience.

hStrong communication and organizational skills to effectively interact with various functional areas and international external sources.

hA proven ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment.

hExcellent written and verbal communication skills.

hBroad understanding of MWV?s organization, interdependencies, demand planning and build logic methodology & customer requirements.

hStrong attention to detail, organization and the ability to make sound judgment decisions.

hAbility to proactively raise issues and offer innovate solutions.

hExperience in the use of various query systems and database manipulation, the ability to quickly assimilate into new system environments.

hThe ability to handle many situations simultaneously in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining attention to details and have a high tolerance for stress.
