POSITION SUMMARY
Incumbent provides administrative support to the Sales area. Responsibilities cover a wide variety of Sales support tasks such as communication with outside sales managers, customers, installers, and dealers. Includes order tracking and coordination, and working with other departments to ensure Precor customer satisfaction.
SCOPE OF POSITION
Incumbent reports directly to the Inside Sales Supervisor of the International Sales Division. Position involves high degree of organizational skills, interaction with outside sales managers, customers and dealers, along with other Precor departments (Manufacturing, Shipping, Accounting, Credit, Customer Service). Initiative, proactive follow up, attention to detail; customer service and professionalism are important factors in daily administration of this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Total Quality
? Actively pursues continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs.
Sales Lead Management
? Handles inbound sales inquiries and leads and routes them to the appropriate areas.
? Assist with commercial product trade shows and promotions as necessary.
Customer Contact
? Maintains contact with department staff, field staff, customer accounts and end-users through phone contact, correspondence and order placement.
? Answers general inbound sales calls. Explains and administers company policies and procedures pertaining to sales with callers.
? Communicates effectively with internal customers (Accounting, Credit, Shipping, Manufacturing, etc) on the status of sales orders and assists in resolving any discrepancies and issues.
? Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules.
? Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
? Builds and maintains customer relationships.
? Organizes occasional dealer/distributor/customer visits and tours of facilities.
Sales Order Functions
? Receives, interprets and processes customer orders for equipment. Follows up with the customer regarding order status by tracking orders through the delivery process using database reports and interdepartmental communication (i.e. with Accounting, Credit, Shipping, and Customer Service).
? Work closely with the Credit Dept. to understand credit concerns and financing methods both internal to Precor and external sources.
? Process serial number exceptions, when applicable.
Correspondence
? Act as a liaison with Outside Sales Staff upon request, which includes composing and forwarding quotations to customers and/or general correspondence.
? Provides order delivery information to International distributors and direct customers.
? Monitor the Outside Sales Staff?s actual revenue vs. their goal and update them on the status a minimum of once a month.
? Works with Outside Sales Staff to keep account activities up to date.
? Organize and assist with projects and reports.
Other
? Occasional travel and assistance at trade shows.
? Assist with large mailings of product materials and clothing.
? Knowledge of world geography a plus.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job will be considered.

? Ability to deal with fast-paced environment and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
? Familiarity with the fitness equipment industry and Precor products.
? Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
? A willingness to train, test and keep up-to-date on fitness equipment.
? Other duties as required by position.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Normal office conditions, with extensive phone work. Will also be keyboarding letters, faxing, filing and photocopying.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light physical effort in office environment.
Experience and Skills:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
? Minimum of 2 years of assistant experience in a sales or customer service department.
? Presenting a professional and congenial phone manner (i.e.: tone, vocabulary, etc.). Experience in telemarketing and/or sales support.
? Experienced at effectively formulating written correspondence.
? Working knowledge of computers, experience with Word, Excel, and databases.
? Must possess good diplomatic skills, be a quick, responsive thinker and a self-initiator.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
? Minimum - 2-year degree is preferred.
? Bachelors degree is strongly preferred.
