This position provides secretarial/administrative support to a Partner and two Associates in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and editing pleadings, motion practice, depositions, trial preparation, client interaction, word processing, maintenance of case files, calendaring, time entry, processing new business intake and expense forms, answering phones, making travel arrangements, coordinating schedules, preparing travel itineraries, monitoring incoming mail, faxes and e-mails, filing and other administrative duties as assigned.
The qualified applicant must possess a minimum of four years of intellectual property litigation experience (patent infringement litigation background strongly preferred) with a solid understanding of case progression, discovery processes, trial preparation and court rules. A comprehensive understanding of filing procedures, including e-filing, and pleading formats for both state and federal courts is required. This position requires a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office, strong administrative skills including calendar management, client billing, superior knowledge of grammar and punctuation, attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; professional telephone skills and a superior commitment to client and attorney service. Flexibility to work overtime is necessary.
