Manager, Meetings and Events
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Manager, Meetings and Events for our Parsippany, New Jersey location. This position will be responsible for the implementation, development, and management of the Corporate Meeting Logistics Function to include all corporate meetings and events for all departments within Daiichi Sankyo.

Responsibilities: Managing a team of two, you will identify and be responsible for meeting logistics specific to each type of meeting. Some activities include: working with each department on site selection and assisting in vendor negotiations, overseeing hotel management as well as air and ground transportation management, and providing thorough logistical support to each department for core meetings. You will ensure that vendor selection complies with the approved list, adhering to corporate guidelines relative to specific meetings. Additionally, you will coordinate the creation and management of a master calendar for each department to identify and assist with the scheduling of all meetings for each fiscal year. Working with each department to analyze program objectives and logistics requirements, you will assist each department with budgeting appropriately and optimizing department spending on meetings. You will ensure that all relevant cost data is captured in the designated tracking system. In this position, you will provide support in regards to the development of meeting communications such as announcements, meeting agendas, program materials, welcome materials, and print production, with the exception of National and Launch meetings. You will be responsible for the development of standard Request for Proposals (RFP) for vendor and contractor selection analysis. Additionally, you will assist with on-site facilitation to oversee and ensure accurate program implementation, operation, and execution of program parameters. Working with each department on the development and execution of attendee evaluations, you will help determine program effectiveness. You will also work with Legal and each department supported on a Daiichi Sankyo Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Meeting Planning Logistics. Lastly, you will ensure that all projects are completed in a timely manner and within budget, performing additional duties as required. 40% domestic travel is required.

Education/Experience Requirements: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Business or Marketing. Commensurate experience is also acceptable. Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or designation is preferred. Candidates will have at least 5 years experience in meeting planning, and/or hotel management; experience with the implementation of the corporate meetings logistic functionality is preferred; managerial experience a plus. It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal, project management, and communication skills. Strong customer service-orientation is also required.
