New Business Group (NBG) Analyst

The Position
The position is part of the new business team reporting into the Americas regional head based in Stamford. The NBG is primarily concerned with Risk Identification, and its chief objective is to ensure adherence to the following policies:

New Business Policy

* Ensures that all risks are considered and analysed before any new business (or new product or significant change) is undertaken.

* Requires all relevant support functions to sign off before the business starts.

Transactions Requiring Pre-Approval (TRPA) Policy:

* Ensures that transactions which are large / complex / heavily structured / tax, legal, accounting or regulatory sensitive / non-vanilla are reviewed by all appropriate support functions before they are executed.

The position requires extensive interaction with trading desks as well as all logistics and control groups including market risk, credit risk, legal, financial control, operations, tax and IT. This position is newly created as a result of rapid growth in the volume and complexity of the new businesses / new transactions being undertaken, coupled with heightened regulatory scrutiny and increased sensitivity with adherence of bank policies.

Basic Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent preferred

* 4 to 6 years work experience at a broker dealer / bank - UBS experience preferred

* Knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative markets

* Self confident and professional - able to work closely with front and back office and interact with senior managers

* Excellent communication skills - ability to organize and run focused meetings

* Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

* Strong organization skills - able to manage several projects simultaneously
