Paralegal (Commercial Lit.) - Richmond, VA

McGuireWoods LLP, one of the top law firms in the United States, has an excellent opportunity available in our Richmond, Virginia office for a Paralegal in our Commerical Litigation Department.

 

The successful candidate will be highly organized and a motivated team player. The duties will include organizing and maintaining document files, which may include research, case related and transactional documents and materials produced in the discovery process. Perform basic factual research and investigation.Assist with document acquisition, organization, review and analysis. Compile information from various sources. Assist with trial preparation; proofread legal documents; communicate with clients professionally over telephone and in person.  Draft routine correspondence and memoranda for attorneys as requested. Coordinate mailings, copying projects and courthouse filings, where appropriate. Draft and supervise the discovery process. Utilize computer databases to organize store and access information; conduct basic research on LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases.

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to think clearly, respond positively, evaluate situations to determine appropriate action and act decisively under pressure. Professional demeanor, strong facility with personal computers required. Must be willing to work overtime and travel, when necessary. Ability to meet targeted billable hours.
