Patient Access Representative

St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Patient Access Representative. This position is for 3 days per week, 3PM-11PM, with Per Diem weekends variable and rotational holiday coverage.

Individual will be responsible for emergency room patient registration. Must have a customer friendly attitude, for enhancement of relationships with Saint Mary?s Hospital patients, visitors and physicians. HS diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Computer literacy, keyboarding, (typing minimum 40 wpm), basic medical terminology, ICD9 required. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Registration and third party payer experience preferred. Must be able to work independently, use reasoning and prioritize tasks. Accurate data entry skills and the ability to handle a high volume of records required. Knowledge of an ADT system preferred.
