Patient Financial Liaison

Our client located in downtown Chicago is in search of a Financial Coordinator.? Some areas of responsibilities are as follows:

Conduct an initial evaluation of the candidate's financial coverage by contacting third party payers.
Identify financial coverage alternatives for the inpatient admission when the initial verification of benefits indicates that coverage is not available.
Coordinate the processing of documentation that is necessary for establishing, obtaining, and maintaining financial coverage for the inpatient transplant admission.
On a periodic basis, verifies and updates financial status for all patients (actively listed) and if necessary renews or obtains new authorization letters from the third party payer.
Drafts and executes waiver letters, ad hoc agreement requests, letters of Medicare Denial, notification letters of insufficient coverage, etc.
Develops and maintains an on-line system for monitoring patient financial data.
Provides on-line access to current benefit limits for admission/concrete services.
Provides data on payer type, terms, and expected payment for admission cases.
Develop and maintain an effective and efficient working relationship with the social workers, nurses, front office staff, billing staff, and business office staff
Maintain data on the expected payment at the time of admission, compare expected payments to received payments and reconcile differences.

The ideal candidate will possess a college degree or 2-3 years experience in reimbursement procedures involving public and private insurance agencies, patient financial and social assessment, information/computer systems including data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.? Must also have good organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
