Procurement Assistant

Randstad has an immediate opportunity for a Procurement Assistant position. This position will lead into an Analyst position within 1 year.



Initially duties will include performing procurement type of activities such as organizing and improving order inquiry processes, database creation, and updating Company files and documents. Will also be contacting Vendors, Customers, other Purchasing Representatives and Company Mill and Corp Employees. Additional research, analytical and system support activities will be performed under the direction of the Procurement Manager or Director.

Analyst duties will include: analyze company material inventories, measure and provide monthly reporting, review, track and assist with coordination of company material, provide Company procurement assistance, maintain Company information files and database, assist with researching and profiling alternative suppliers, track and analyze carrier costs, value and performance, maintain carrier usage and carrier supplier base, assist with development and implementation of best practices to ensure best utilization of system by Procurement department, provide system training to new employees, undertake, assist or participate in other system projects and additional duties as required by the Manager or Director of Procurement.

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Purchasing, Accounting or related field. Strong organization and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task, the ability to work well with changing priorities and strong customer and communication skills are needed. Knowledge of AS-400 business systems is needed along with strong Excel skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone that may have some experience as a purchasing assistant (or is starting in the procurement field) and is looking for a stepping stone position/the next step in their career. The position is beginning as an assistant position while the Company is undergoing a new computer system implementation. After the implementation is complete, this position will advance to a Procurement Analyst position. Hours are either 7:30-4:30 or 8:00-5:00 pm and salary range is low 40,000?s to 50,000?s based by experience.
