“Group Health is on the move in East King County. In 2008, Eastside residents will benefit from a new multispecialty medical center in Bellevue, a new primary care center in Redmond, and an innovative collaboration with Overlake Hospital Medical Center.We are looking for a Project Director, reporting directly to the VP of East King County, who can oversee and coordinate multiple work streams associated with this complex, multi - year initiative, and provide direction in a changing environment.?

 

SUMMARY:
Works collaboratively with the project and steering teams, and with various GHC medical and administrative leaders to oversee and coordinate all aspects of Group Health?s East King County Project.
Engages customers/stakeholders to determine their business needs/requirements. Obtains staff/resources to accomplish project tasks and activities, and directs their project work. Negotiates agreements with other individuals, groups and business partners to support projects plans, activities, and schedules.
Directs overall project planning, develops/revises project strategy, monitors project work plans and schedules.  Conducts project team meetings.  Resolves issues related to projects.  Ensures project deliverables meet expectations.  Reports project progress/status to management, business partners and project sponsors. When appropriate, provides project communication throughout GHC.
Conducts reviews of proposed alternatives and designs with appropriate management and staff to ensure compatible solutions with established standards and customer requirements.
Coordinates/maintains documentation of project activities, correspondence with outside parties and other relevant materials.
May perform specific project related duties such as risk assessment preparation, development and evaluation of remediation alternatives, coordination of contingency plans and directing key, emergency junctures in the project.



QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree required.  Master?s degree in Business or Health Services Administration preferred.
7+ years project management and relevant work experience.
Health plan or insurance industry experience or delivery system experience.
Experience managing a budget for a large organization.
Demonstrated competence in designing, implementing, evaluating, and transitioning projects and programs.
Prefer proven project management skills on complex issues related to the operational & administrative performance of healthcare systems.
Excellent project management, leadership, strategic planning, written/verbal communication, and analytical skills.
