Proposal Specialist

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

Responsible for developing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) and responses related to follow-up activity.  Works under the supervision of a Proposal Manager.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

(INCLUDES KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

 

  Required:  Bachelor?s degree

Strong writing and editing capabilities as demonstrated through original writing samples

Internal customer service focus with an emphasis on sales

Ability to interact at all levels within the organization

  Experience with Microsoft Office 2000 applications and database software

  Ability to work under time constraints and defined deadlines

 

  Preferred: Degree in English, Communications or related field

3-5 years experience in care management proposal preparation,

  including familiarity with the healthcare industry and consulting houses

Working knowledge of ?The RFP Machine? software (Pragmatech)

MACHINES/EQUIPMENT USED:

 

Personal computer, printer, photocopier, facsimile machine, telephone, postal scale machine, and Federal Express Power Shipping station.

 

 

CUSTOMER INTERACTIONS REQUIRED:

 

Interact with internal colleagues at all levels of the Company.  Internal staff primarily consists of the Marketing, Sales, Operations, Product Development, Informatics, Finance and Contracts Departments.  External customers may include various vendors and consulting companies/brokers, but this contact is infrequent.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED:

?  Prepares responses to RFPs and RFIs as assigned by Proposal Manager in accordance with the company?s processes.

?  Prepares well-positioned and clearly articulated Executive Summaries and/or other components of proposal responses as needed, leveraging understanding of client?s objectives, Sales discovery and company/product differentiators.

?  Contributes to the RFP Machine Database through discovery with Content Experts.

?  Inputs and updates RFP data into Upshot or other CRM tool.

?  Assists with other ad hoc duties/projects as requested.
