Proposal Writer

 

The Proposal Writer prepares written responses to government and private industry Requests for Proposal (RFP). The Proposal Writer must quickly and effectively develop an understanding of corporate products and services in order to complete writing assignments. 

 

Duties include:

 

?  Monitor the market for new RFP?s on a daily basis

?  Write, edit, format and coordinate the preparation of materials needed for formal and informal proposals within designated timeline

 

?  Assemble the final bid, binding and finishing of document(s)

?  Consult with subject matter experts as needed to clarify details and develop custom responses

 

?  Incorporate and revise reusable proposal sections from prior responses

 

?  Research competitor proposal responses, pricing and service enhancements

 

?  Maintain proposal schedule and monitor progress; provide timely follow up on proposals

 

?  Complete and maintain vendor registration status with applicable agencies

 

?  Develop working relationships with purchasing agents

 

Required Skills:

 

?  Minimum 2 years technical, business writing or proposal writing experience, preferably in government proposal writing

 

?  High energy, proposal savvy, can create proposals in a creative and compliant manner

 

?  Excellent writing, editing, oral communication and grammar skills

 

?  Ability to work well under pressure, problem solving, manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines

 

?  Communicate and cooperate with individuals at all levels of the corporation

 

?  Complete projects and develop solutions with minimal supervision

 

?  Intermediate to advanced personal computer skills and related Microsoft Office software suite

 

?  Prioritize the urgency of competing demands and juggle multiple tasks, seeing them through to completion

 

?  Organized and heightened attention to detail

 

?  Ability to process information quickly and accurately

 

?  Disciplined and demands high-quality results
