We seek an experienced Purchasing Assistant II to join our team. The position is located in Brea, CA.

The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

*  Responsible for broad variety of work on contract and purchasing transactions within Procurement such as discussions with suppliers on general business terms for standard contracts, assembling contract packages for management review and approval, and organizing competitive bidding events by assembling RFx packages and managing intake of bids.  Provide project and transaction support to Manager as needed.

 

* Assist in the development and maintenance of spreadsheet reports which will enhance the ability of Procurement Management and its clients to effectively monitor and assess spend, risk, and opportunity within the enterprise loan portfolio.

 

* Perform data entry of critical transaction and project information into department database applications.

 

* Verify specifications of purchase requisitions and ensure completeness and accuracy of the information provided. Consult with catalog and interview suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.  Assist in Sourcing and in placement of orders.

 

* Develop, maintain, and use effective reporting tools for the Procurement Department and our clients to be aware of the progress and status of projects and assignments.

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

* Four-year (4) college degree or three (3) years relevant work experience in a MRO Procurement or Services Industry environment.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in Oracle Software a Plus.

* Strong mathematical aptitude to perform accurate and concise calculations.

* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).

* Ability to work in an organized manner with great attention to detail, under limited direction, and  prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
