QA Analyst - PERM HIRE!!

This position will use the Rational suite of tools to automate system testing of client/server and web-based software in a collaborative environment. The main focus will be on automating functional regression tests using the Rational suite of tools. This person will use a combination of Robot, ClearQuest, Test Manager, RequisitePro and other tools in their automation work. The main responsibilities will include all phases of the automation test effort - test planning, test case development, actual scripting of tests, test execution, along with test environment setup and test data maintenance.

In addition, the position involves working with project managers, business analysts, developers and the user community to plan the automated scripting effort. The goal is to ensure application quality by writing regression test scripts that provide the most value to the business. He/she will also interface with Middle Tier Web Specialists, Database Administrators, and Change Management teams to ensure smooth transitions into the production environment. Work with the Help Desk and Service Management teams on release coordination and follow-up activities may also be involved.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

This person must have prior experience writing automated test scripts, preferably using the Rational toolset. The candidate must have extensive experience with Visual Basic programming in order to be successful in this position. During the test process he/she may also become involved in defining requirements and solidifying changes. This team member will gain an understanding of business application architectures along with underlying business processes and interfaces. The position also includes a focus on application stability, definition and gathering of metrics.


Education Required:
The ideal candidate will possess a four-year college degree in computer programming, IS or related field of study or related work experience. The candidate should have 5 years experience involving in-depth automated scripting, software testing, Quality Assurance and SDLC processes.


Tools/Equipment Used:
Experience with automated software test tools, object-oriented development, and an in-depth understanding of Rational Suite tools is essential. Experience with object-oriented development, and an understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, VB.NET and Visual Basic, COM objects, and project tools such as Microsoft Project, Visual Source Safe, and Visio are required.
