Quality Engineer III

Assist the Daily Operations Team (DOT) technically and physically to satisfy production from the Monaca Plants by participating as a member of the Daily Support Team (DST). This will require participation in the coordination of production, maintenance, technology improvements, capital investment, health and safety, ecology, quality assurance, and working closely with DOT members in a High Performance Team environment. Communicate product issues and demonstrate improvement progress internally and externally to the site.

Coordinate BSB (benchmarking) and process optimization activities for the Monaca site to promote continual improvement of our results
Interface with business group quality leadership to support initiatives that improve the quality of our output.

Daily responsibilities include review of LIMS data, exception reports, SPC charts and NCRs.
Utilize technical background, statistical analysis, trend analysis, and root cause analysis to investigate product NCRs, process upsets and recommend improvements to first pass quality.



Function as liaison with all service groups to ensure that recipe development, process improvement and waste reduction efforts are accomplished correctly, promptly, and in the most cost effective manner.



Provide input on training of DOT, DST, and TST members with regards to operations technology, plant experiences, plant record keeping, and safety.



Assist the Monaca Operations Manager as required to ensure production requirements are met.



Cross-train in the roles of the DST members and support them in high work periods to achieve a High Performance Team.



Participate in, or conduct PHA/PSSR reviews to meet PSM requirements.



Identify potential Waste Reduction Opportunities and drive the process and product improvements to enable these reductions.

B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to interface with DOT, DST, and TST Teams.
Strong technical skills to help troubleshoot problems in the different manufacturing areas.
Strong managerial skills to assist the Monaca Utilities Manager in meeting spending targets for budgetary and capital projects.
