Quality Technician/Administrator

Overview:

The Quality Technician/Administrator is responsible for effectively planning and conducting activities concerned with the Quality Assurance Program.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

This position may require any or all of the following:

 

Maintain and conduct the processes, controls, inspections and documentation that comprise the Quality Assurance Program and support our reputation for quality products and services.

Stop work or segregate materials when requirements or standards have not been met.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

This position may require any or all of the following:

 

?  Performing duties as received from the Quality Manager.

?  Upholding requirements and arrangements documented in job specifications.

?  Maintaining open communications and a harmonious working relationship with all personnel.

?  Completing documentation and reports in an accurate and timely basis.

?  Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.

?  Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.

?  Performing inspection and testing of materials; items; welded fabrications; precision parts; assemblies; and equipment in accordance with drawing requirements.

?  Inspecting machined parts; welding; painting; electrical and mechanical functions; and other operations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements.

?  Reading and using drawings, blueprints, and sketches for inspection purposes.

?  Using precision measuring equipment such as calipers; coating thickness gauges; hardness testers; meggers; micrometers; multimeters; tachometers; and torque wrenches.

?  Documenting inspections, tests, observations, and nonconformances.

?  Reviewing and approving documentation relating to Material Test Reports, Purchase Orders, inspection records, and test reports.

?  Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.

?  Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.

 

Experience / Skills required:

This position may require any or all of the following:

?  Document management, including review, approval, organization, and preparation of document packages, copying, and filing.

?  Use of drawings and material standards in the review of Material Test Reports.

?  Precision measurement using calibrated equipment.

?  Welding inspection in accordance with AWS or MIL requirements, preferred but not required

?  Familiarity with heavy equipment, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and assemblies.

?  NDT Level II, MT, PT Preferred but not required
