Risk Management Director
St Petersburg company is seeking a Director with experience in underwriting and loss control to manage the Risk Management Department.
Required skills and experience:Underwriting experience Knowledge of safety and loss control Knowledge of worker?s compensation classification and codes Management experience Excellent organization and communication skills Strong attention to detail Enthusiasm and passion for risk management and loss prevention Ability to work with team members in both local and remote locations Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel Great customer service skillsP&C License preferred
Main responsibilities:
Manages, develops, and trains internal Risk Management staff to support risk management and loss prevention strategies for clients. Underwriting responsibilities -- reviews applications for insurance coverage, reports from loss control consultants, and other information to determine if applications for insurance are acceptable risks. Assists clients in planning, directing, and coordinating risk and insurance programs to control risks and losses. Analyzes and classifies risks as to frequency and potential severity, measures financial impact of risk on company, and determines appropriate actions to minimize loss. Prepares operational and risk reports for management analysis. Directs loss prevention and safety programs for clients. Reviews current insurance legislation to determine necessary changes in insurance requirements and coverage for existing clients. Provides assistance and guidance to clients regarding liability, risk issues, and contract administration. Oversees administration of worker?s compensation and unemployment insurance programs for existing clients. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
