Risk & Safety Manager

The Risk & Safety Manager serves as the safety and environmental health advisor for our Retail business locations.  Responsibilities also include coordination of all workers compensation claims for the retail business. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an organization with 'top-quartile' safety performance, ability to travel along with natural leadership abilities.

 

Responsibilities

 
Coordinates Safety and health regulatory compliance program efforts
Develops and assists with the implementation of focused safety, health & risk management programs, procedures and management systems that are designed to cost effectively prevent injuries and illnesses
Coordinates workers compensation claims management for the Retail Business
Develops and assists with the implementation of employee safety and health training
Conducts specialized studies and reviews, including identification and control of hazards, investigation of serious incidents, analysis of injury and illness data and recommendation of improvement activities.
Measures the effectiveness of safety & health programs, injury prevention activities and corrective actions, and regularly communicates this information to management

 

Requirements

 

The Ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5 years experience as a safety/health/workers comp professional
Experience supporting the implementation of safety/health programs at multiple locations.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA and state occupational safety/health regulations
Experience and/or knowledge of workers compensation claims handling and management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel  and willingness to respond to emergency situations
Hands on style with a passion for continuous improvement and customer service
Ability to make create and deliver presentations to various levels of management
