Safety Sales Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: Under minimum supervision serves as an administrative support and for the Safety Sales Specialists.  Also acts as a Safety product resource for Branch personnel and Account Managers.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

? Process orders for new safety customers which includes customer set-up, part number set-up, entering orders.

? Serves as Liaison between the Region, ADI and Airgas Safety ? verifying order confirmations and resolving delivery problems.

? Generate quotes for Branches and Safety Sales Specialists which includes obtaining part numbers and pricing from Germantown or directly from the vendor.

? Builds and maintains a library of safety items that are not found in the system.

? Primary contact for Branch personnel and Safety Sales Specialists, providing them with information regarding product availability, order quantities, drop shipment requirements from vendors, etc.

? Responsible for reviewing brand strategy and dashboard intranet tools to keep the Safety Specialists updated on target accounts posted for safety and help them convert products that are not-commissioned.

? Primary contact for customers looking for safety products through advertising and promotions.

? Initiate phone contact with targeted safety accounts, forwarding the information gathered (competitors, products, prices) to the Safety Specialist for follow-up.

? Distribute Airgas Safety catalog to customers along with vendor catalogs as needed.

? Maintain a working relationship with key Safety suppliers and manufacturers.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Travel occasionally with Safety Sales Specialists or Account Managers assisting with administrative tasks related to initiating a new contract (i.e. helping with surveys, product quotes, etc.)

? Assist Safety Sales Manager with monthly reports, market surveys, OSHA regulations and new product updates.

? Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years working in an office environment; preferably in a sales department. Safety product knowledge preferred.

 



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

? Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, self-motivated, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention detail.

? Moderately experienced with computers, computer applications, software programs, spread sheets and presentations

? Ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, to make mathematical computations with and without mechanical assistance (e.g., ability to operate a calculator by touch).

? Willing to improve skills and techniques by attending classes on employee?s own time.

? Ability to read, speak, write, spell and understand the English language.

? Frequent sitting, bending up to 90%.

? Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

? Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

? Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background.

? Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.
