Major Duties and Functions Include:
Responsible for the day to day management of a team of claim assistants who support the Disability Claim Organization.
Manage all aspects of the people management arena for permanent and temporary staff: conduct performance appraisals, manage compensation planning, performance management. etc.
Coach, direct and develop team members to raise individual and organizational capabilities.
Identify staffing needs, participate in hiring selection process and conduct new hire training (permanent and temporary employees) as needed.
Continuously assess the needs of the claims organization and coordinate activities of the support team to deliver services so that case management staff may make their goals, including New Account Implementation activities.
Monitor and control work distribution for the staff (Permanent and Temporary) through daily inventory review and productivity tracking.
Manage bank account deposits and reconciliations for the assigned office.
Coordination of Audit preparation (gathering of appropriate information) for the law department and special audits.
Manage the inventory of stored records according to MetLife?s Record Information Management (RIM) Standards, and requirements contained therein, assuring that requests for records are handled promptly.
Manage office operations including all tasks, maintenance, and service related to mail, supplies, and office equipment.
Oversight of the monitoring, auditing, and reporting on local office RCO activity on a daily basis.
Oversight of tasks related to Financial Transaction activity (state and federal taxes, W-2?s, etc.)
Maintain vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and billing, as needed.
Maintain local office supply services including ordering and distribution.
Coordinate moves and all associated move activities with local office, vendors, facilities and services, as well as coordinating new hire equipment set up.
Responsible for interfacing with Facilities and Service and Siemens to ensure that necessary workstation equipment is in operation at all times. Includes managing Desk Top Lifecycle Management.
In conjunction with IT Management Risk Recovery, create and maintain Business Continuity Plan to include the Local Crisis Management Plan. Includes participation in selection of recovery sites, local evacuation drills, risk analysis exercises to test the plans, conduct scheduled reviews both on site and at recovery locations, communicate with staff regarding Business Continuity, maintenance of call-trees and vital records. What You Need to Succeed:
Working knowledge of the supported business functions, Institutional Disability, and familiarity with MetLife?s businesses and products.
Analytical thinking, problem solving, customer focus, strong negotiation skills, functional knowledge, communicate effectively both written and oral.
Action-oriented for achieving business results, demonstrates sense of urgency as appropriate.
Sound judgement skills to make effective decisions.
Appropriate interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, management and vendors.
Awareness of various work styles, communication differences and needs; ability to adapt to each audience?s unique approach.
Intermediate IT skills, including Word, Power Point, and basic Excel.
Able to determine appropriate hardware for each project?s needs.
MS Access skills are a plus.
Financial acumen to track and monitor expenses.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Strong performance management skills
Strong interpersonal skills, aimed at both internal and external customers.
Strong coach and team builder.
