Position: Technicial Assistant

Reports To: Manager, Engineering Services

Location: Mocksville, North Carolina

Position Objective :

Performs repetitive, routine, and semi-routine duties involving the use of numerous established clerical and other general procedures involving average technical detail and variations. Requires the making of contingency decisions and the use of some judgment



Principal Responsibilities:

Log into a custom database, distribute and track to completion all requests for Sustaining Engineering actions including QIR, PCR, NMR, SDCR and CAR requests from Mocksville Operations, Marketing, Aftermarket and Field Service with occasional requests from overseas locations.

Process the release of all Engineering Changes Notices using MFG/PRO. Verify each ECN drawing package for completeness and revision levels. Notify overseas locations of ECN actions. Load Engineering Drawing viewable files into the e-Drawings system for worldwide users.

Create and maintain Option Logic Diagrams using Excel. Interpret Option Logic Diagrams and enter corresponding data and forecast % into MFG/PRO 8.1 and into custom Sundog rules-based Order Configurator and Product Catalog system

Log requests for pressure vessel documentation from worldwide customers. Determine tank supplier and request the appropriate level of documentation from the supplier. Maintain appropriate hardcopy / electronic files of documentation. Deliver documentation to customer.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience:

Duties require knowledge and skills usually acquired in an Associate Degree or equivalent college technical or business administration training including excellent PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. One to five years experience in intensive and accurate computer data entry. Close attention to detail and data entry accuracy is essential. Good English language verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to perform multiple job tasks under minimal supervision. Experience in Access or web-based document management tools such as Quickplace is a plus. Ingersoll Rand product knowledge or MFG/PRO knowledge is a plus.

Formal Education Requirement:

Associate Degree or equivalent college technical or business administration training including excellent PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
